1st, 2nd Policy Meeting by Function

The PUAC held the first and second policy meetings by function on March 5-7 at the Yuseong Hotel in Daejeon under the theme of “Roles and Tasks for Pulling Together Unification Energy during the Transformation Period of Inter-Korean Relations.”

The first policy meeting by function drew PUAC council members from the culture, healthcare and welfare, and education sectors, and the second those from the economy and science, industry and commerce, construction and transportation, agriculture and fisheries, and environment and labor sectors. They had in-depth discussions on each function’s tasks and measures to prepare for reunification.

On the first day, Kim Jum-joon, Director of the Consultation and Advice Bureau, made a business report and Shin Mi-nyeo, standing director of Saejowi, gave a special lecture, which was followed by the keynote lectures and group discussions.

In the group discussions, the participants divided into tables identified policy issues and concrete action plans for each function. The participants wrote individual policy proposals and developed them into group proposals after the group discussions, which ended their first-day work.

The second day of the policy meeting included the “Unification Word Quiz” and “Group Presentations.” The quiz event gave the participants a time to communicate with each other by solving quizzes related to unification and inter-Korean relations. Finally, they shared their ideas for policy proposals through group presentations.
